Psychological Counseling Center of the School of Management held an activity of aesthetic education themed on “drawing the fall based on your thoughts and inspirations” from November 14 to 22, which attracts abundant students to participate in. It aims to enable its students to feel the beauty of nature and life while listening to what they really think through exploring the beauty of autumn. In this way, it helps to promote their psychological health.

The activity consists of offline and online ones. Offline activities mainly include confidential listening and practical materials of aesthetic education. Firstly, “drawing the fall based on your thoughts and inspirations” refers to the activity of confidential listening, guiding participants to express what they thought recently with words, thus helping them to face what they really think and how they feel. Students wrote down their worries and moods, including topics on career development, anxieties before examinations and relationship with roommates. Then another group of students tried to dispel their worries through random arrangement. Therefore, the goal of mutual help could be achieved.

Secondly, it turns to the practical activity of “embracing fall with your inspirations”, which is a demonstration of innovation and skills. Participants created their distinctive art works with natural elements such as fallen leaves, flowers and branches found in the campus as well as various elements provided by the organizer centered on the “campus in autumn” in the group of 2 to 3 members. Each member of different groups share their thoughts and their understandings and feelings during the process to complete their works. These groups introduced titles of their works and explained their inspirations. Finally, 20 works advanced to the online voting.

The results were finalized by offline and online voting. Motherland in My Heart won the first prize; Little Prince, Fall and Harvest in Fall won the second prizes; Collection of Fall, Fall Came, Fall, Girl in the Moonlight, Beauty of Fall won the third prizes while “Christmas” in Fall, Stories of Fall, Features of Fall, It’s Fall Now and Blessings of Fall won the Outstanding Awards.

A freshmen from the major Accounting shared that she believed that the activity enabled her to realize what she really thinks, and it made her learn to listen to others while being heard by others through the part, “drawing the fall based on your thoughts and inspirations”, from which she also felt the warmth and concerns of strangers. She also mentioned that she understood the strength of teamwork through cooperating with her teammates while practicing her creativity and practical skills.

The holding of “drawing the fall based on your thoughts and inspirations” competition not only provides a stage for its students where they can express their emotions and creativity, but creates strong culture-enriched atmosphere. The Psychological Counseling Center of the School of Management pointed out that it would continue to hold similar activities to explore a new approach to mental health education and build a more harmonious and warm campus environment, thus contributing to each student’s healthy development through helping them to rise up to every challenge they encounter in a reasonable and good mood.
