Guangzhou City University of Technology (GCUT) held a large-scale on-campus job fair for the Class of 2025 entitled “attracting millions of graduates to work in Guangdong province” in front of its library on March 14 in line with the national strategy that advances employment of graduates while establishing an efficient platform for talent supply and demand matchmaking meeting, which attracted 106 enterprises from various fields such as science and technology, finance, manufacturing, education, the internet and new energy. Over 4,500 quality posts were offered, providing rich employment opportunities as well as a platform for career development for its graduates.

Deputy Secretary of CPC Guangzhou City University of Technology Committee and Vice President Liu Jianbo, personnel in charge of GCUT’s Students Affairs Office and Career Center, deans and secretaries of GCUT’s schools were present to better understand enterprises’ requirements. They also chatted with these graduates, asking for their job intentions and how they prepared for it. Moreover, they encouraged graduates to cherish such opportunity to fully demonstrate their professional competences and comprehensive qualities, and accept the challenges with a positive attitude.

Dependent on the Smart Platform of Employment and Entrepreneurship Services for College Graduates of Guangdong Province, the supply and demand matchmaking meeting was held online and offline simultaneously. Quality enterprises gathered here, including China Telecom Corporation Limited, Midea Smart technology Co., Ltd., Chow Tai Fook (Shunde), Zhongshan Weishi Gas Cookers & Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd., Gani Ceramics, Dongguan Huamao Electronics Group, Dongguan Dongxiu Culture Communication Co., Ltd., Foshan Baosuo Mechanical Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Genki Forest (Guangdong) Beverage Co., Ltd., providing various types of posts for graduates. Recruitment booths were crowded with graduates who came with their well-prepared resumes. They took a deep dive into questions concerning job requirements, career paths and compensation.

The fair set a booth for “resume clinic” to further improve graduates’ employment competitiveness. Career guidance mentors with rich experience gave professional suggestions for them, such as resume polishing, interview skills and career planning, helping them to outshine themselves when applying for a job. Furthermore, the fair also had booths introducing conscription as well as the publicity of college students participating in a voluntary service program in China’s less-developed western region, which provides detailed policy interpretation and registration guidance for graduates who hopes to devote themselves to China’s national defense or temper themselves in grassroots units, thus broadening their selections of employment.

The fair not only provides a targeted matchmaking platform for graduates and employers, but further enhances the connection between GCUT and enterprises.
