The library of Guangzhou City University of Technology (GCUT) invited Zhang Xueying, a senior training lecturer of CNKI Training Institute to give a lecture themed on “AI empowers academic research, boosting efficient scientific research” in Room 201 of the Teaching Building A5 on the afternoon of March 13 to make GCUT’s teachers and students further understand CNKI AI For Academic, thus improving their efficiency and quality concerning their teaching, scientific research, work and study , which attracted over 200 teachers and students.
At the beginning of the lecture, Zhang Xueying divided her sharing into three parts, including “resources of CNKI and research skills”, “CNKI AI For Academic + DeepSeek”, “AI boosts the whole process of scientific research”. She explained various types of research skills in simple terms such as CNKI’s simple research, advanced research and publications research while focusing on expounding the deep seeking function accessing to DeepSeek in all scenarios. Moreover, she also introduced its application of three key steps of “research topic - further analysis of articles - creation and modification of thesis”. Visitors can find their answers easily through using natural languages and AI-driven Q&A. They can produce their topics based on keywords while academic trends can be presented in direct visualized pictures. In this way, it can empower the whole process of scientific research and help to build new quality productive forces. Furthermore, it provides new means of scientific research, which will further advance the development of scientific research.
Zhang Xueying designed an interesting part of the interaction during the lecture. Regarding the actual practice, she showed outstanding functions of CNKI AI For Academic, which allow present teachers and students to have a closer look at the AI scientific research tools.
The lecture aims to improve GCUT’s teachers and students’ information literacy and give full play to the strength of quality electronic resources and practical scientific research tools. Present students all thought highly of the lecture for its coherence and contents consistent with their needs. It not only introduces a good helper in improving personal information literacy, but brings inspirations of the future academic research as well as daily work and study. The library will organize more training and lectures on information literacy both online and offline in the future, helping GCUT’s teachers and students march forward in their study and scientific research.
