The Logistics Office of Guangzhou City University of Technology (GCUT) held the Campus Food Festival themed on “Delicious Food Awaits You” in the Square of Student Activity Center on December 5. Secretary of CPC Guangzhou City University of Technology Committee, Du Xiaoming, Vice President, Shang Qichao, and several related personnel in charge of administrative departments and schools attended the festival.

Secretary Du Xiaoming announced the opening of the campus food festival after the lion dance. The 4-meter cake grabbed the spotlight, which was cut by related guests and shared to present teachers and students, while the instagrammable cake attracted abundant participants to take photo of.

Cooks from GCUT’s canteens turn the square to their kitchens during the festival in order to better present their dishes to teachers and students. It set 36 stands such as Local Snacks, Signature Dishes, Dim Sum, and Desserts and Drinks from GCUT’s different canteens, Xingchuang Future Restaurant and other stores. Over 120 kinds of dishes were provided, including Tanghulu (hawthorns wrapped by a layer of sugar), cotton candy, buffalo wings, and other special snacks, which won appreciation by present teachers and students. Meanwhile, there were also stands for different dishes, enabling teachers and students to understand how dishes are made as well as cooking skills of cooks more comprehensively and directly.

When tasting delicious food, teachers and students could also enjoy performances such as lively band playing, mysterious magic show, fashionable model show and elegant playing of musical instruments. Moreover, several areas set for playing games also added fun and joy to the festival.
GCUT’s Logistics Office spent three months in making preparations for the festival, including investigating popular dishes in society for the campus food festival, based on which they instructed GCUT’s canteens to improve their cooking and endeavored to make delicious and safe food with simple materials, thus enriching teachers and students’ experience in tasty food. GCUT will continue to hold different types of activities on food to satisfy its teachers and students in the future. In this way, it can create more unforgettable memories of tasty food while promoting cultural communication of campus food.
